Customs Allowances

Find below a description of tax free allowances by country. If you exceed those limits,
you may be asked to pay the duty difference in the country of your destination.

Customs Allowances

 

The following goods may be imported into Ecuador without incurring customs duty:

-          Processed foods, in properly sealed  packaging;

-          In the case of passengers over 18 years of age, maximum 3 liters of alcoholic beverages, 20 packs of cigarettes of 20 units, 1 pound of tobacco and 25 units of cigars or cigars.

-          Maximum 300 milliliters of perfume per passenger or 600 milliliters of perfume per family group, contained in new bottles; and,

-          Maximum 1250 milliliters in total per passenger or 3,000 milliliters in total per family group, of creams, body lotions, splash and similar, contained in new packaging.

-          It is also considered as personal effects accompanying the passenger, a good or set of goods, not specified above and that does not have restrictions by volume, quantity or size, whose value does not exceed USD 500.00 (five hundred dollars of United States of America).
